Avey Inspired

Two posts in one day I must be sick or lonely or something. But Avey has inspired me. Erika and I have been tossing the idea of a puppy around for the last few months. It does seem like a really irresponsible thing to do on the surface, but neither Erika nor I are really that into being responsible. With that said I could never neglect a dog, I am home off and on throughout the day and we do not have an exciting night life. We are going to have a baby in like seven months and I really think it is important for kids to have a dog. But who wants to be training a dog when you have a baby to look after so it only makes sense to get a dog before you have a kid. Plus we need more exercise and a dog would force me to take it for walks. Anyway we are going for a road trip at the end of the month so we would not get it before then anyway. But here’s to thinkin’.
Catch ya kids

Oh Tim! Such fun!
But promise me one thing. You don't have to get one from the spca, but at least go and take a look.
When I got charlie it was the first time i"d ever been to the spca and it changed me.
Seriously.
I think now would be a good time for a dog. Before the baby, and at a time when there will be someone home with it a lot.

I have to say this because I am the 'budget nazi' , but aren't dogs expensive?

Ahhh I can just picture mom and dad's reaction. Yup, you should get one. A big golden lab would suit you and Erica. But get an old-timer who is nice and laid back. Hyper dogs are just annoying and will constantly knock Baby Ichiban over (when he can walk!).

Okay. I'm going to put my nose in here and give you some advice: WAIT UNTIL A FEW MONTHS AFTER THE KID SHOWS UP TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE TIME AND ENERGY FOR THE KID AND THE DOG!!!!!

And don't forget it will be $200 to $250 for vaccines and another $200 for neuter and $30 a month for insurance if you really plan to be decent about it. And $10 a month to deworm it to make sure it doesn't pass anything on to the kid.

Veterinarian's rant now over. Do what you will.
